For various reasons I have a passion for road safety and over the past 6 years have toyed with the idea of becoming a driving instructor. I finally took the decision to train and qualified in March 2019 having worked on a trainee licence since May 2018.
Previously I have worked in retail management, then took formal horticultural and landscape construction qualifications and set up my own garden design and build company. Latterly (15 years) I have been a college lecturer/curriculum manager working mainly in the Further Education sector.
During this time I have learnt a lot about the theoretical and practical delivery models associated with teaching and the importance of good communication and coaching skills to ensure achievement of ones goals. I am now in the position where I can transfers these skills from the classroom to the in-car environment to help people learn the important life skill of safe driving.
On being invited to join the Evo Driver Training team I fully endorse the ethos and aim of the team to make Evo Driver Training a by-word for setting the standards for driver training on the Isle of Wight.
